Gastonia, N.C. - Stuart W. Cramer principal Audrey Devine announced today the selection of Ben McMillan as the school’s head football coach.


McMillan currently serves as the Forestview High School assistant varsity football coach and head junior varsity coach.


Coach McMillan will officially take over on June 1, 2013.  As head football coach, McMillan will be responsible for organizing the school’s first football team.


The first year Stuart Cramer is open the school will field a junior varsity football team and the second year it will add a varsity team. The school’s athletic director Coach Terry Radford was appointed in December, 2012. 


Stuart W. Cramer High School will open in the fall of 2013 with grades 9-10.  The next year, grade 11 will be added and in 2015, the 12th grade.  The class of 2016 will be the first graduating class. 


The state-of-the art, 268,000 square-foot new high will serve up to 1,200 students.  Stuart W. Cramer High School will feature a 1,500-seat gymnasium and a 3,000-seat stadium. 


The school campus is surrounded by more than 55 acres of protected natural area. 

A committee made up of middle school students who will attend the new Stuart W. Cramer High School chose “Storm” as the school’s mascot and silver, black and purple as the school colors.
