Common Core and Essential Standards Curriculum Information Sessions

Gaston County Schools will sponsor parent information sessions to explain the new state Common Core and Essential Standards Curriculum. The meetings are being held at the feeder high schools on the following dates:

• Bessemer City High School – September 24 – 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium
• Hunter Huss High School - September 24 - 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium
• Cherryville High School - September 25 - 6:30 p.m. at Starnes auditorium
• Forestview High School – September 25 – 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium
• North Gaston High School – September 25 – 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium
• Ashbrook High School - October 1 - 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium
• East Gaston High School – October 1 – 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium
• South Point High School - October 10 - 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium

The sessions are designed to provide an understanding of the new state Common Core and Essential Standards Curriculum. Parents will have an opportunity to learn about the changes in classroom instruction and learning opportunities for our students. The information sessions are designed for all parents of K-12 students.
