Hello students and parents!

We're halfway through the semester! You can expect interim reports soon--probably Thursday.

English 10 Honors students are finishing Unit 4 on Drama. We are currently reading Ibsen's A Doll House. We will have a test in the near future on verb tense, and next week we will have a cumulative vocabulary test.

Creative Writing students are finishing Unit 3 on Poetry. This is such a talented group of young people! What a treat for me. After we record our performance poems, we will begin Unit 4 on Scriptwriting.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Mr. Jesse Birnstihl

 English 10 EOC

So I'm sure a lot of you have questions about the English II EOC. As promised, I'm sharing information with you as I get it.

Here's what I know:

  • The English II EOC will be completed online. A tutorial is available here.
  • The test contains multiple choice questions, but it also includes other modes of questioning (including constructed response).
  • Here is a released English II EOC. This should help you prepare for the real thing.
  • The test counts as 25% of your semester grade.
  • Scores will be delayed. All students in English 10 or English 10 Honors will receive an Incomplete for the semester. Once scores are received. students' grades will be calculated.
  • I will update you as I receive additional information.
