About Me:
Welcome to my website! My name is Kristen Miller and I am very excited to be back at the Greenwave! This will be my third year at Ashbrook High School. Let me tell you a few things about myself. I have been in Gaston County for four years; I taught two at Ashbrook High School, one at Southwest Middle and have now returned back to Ashbrook. I moved here from Conneaut, Ohio in 2008. I had been in Ohio schools for one year and Pennsylvania schools for two years before I decided it was too cold and I wanted warmer weather. I currently reside in Gastonia with my husband and our dogs Loki, a miniature schnauzer who was named after the Norwegian God of Evil and Mischief, and Juno, a Collie/Austrialian Shepherd Mix who was named after the Roman Goddess.
I am currently teaching African American Studies and World History. I have a Bachelors Degree from Mount Union College (now Mount Union University) in Alliance, Ohio. I double majored in History and Political Science. I also have my Masters in Education focusing on Middle and Secondary Instruction from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in Edinboro, Pennsylvania.
