Ms. Murphy

Technology Education

Students will be graded on a weighted point system.

Example of how grades will be calculated:

          Gypsy Leigh’s Grades

          10%   Homework (Independent Practice):

50%   Tests (Major - Projects, papers and performances)

40%   Class work (Quizzes, class work, common assessments, etc.)

·        A = 93-100

·        B = 85-92

·        C = 77-84

·        D = 70-76

·        F = Below 70

Grade Composition:

A minimum of three (3) tests shall be given during each grading period.  A minimum of nine (9) daily grades shall be given in each grading period.  Ample assignments will be given for students to demonstrate what was learned.  Student progress will be monitored to ensure mastery of content knowledge.

Make-up work/missing assignments must be completed within five (5) school days.  If not, phone call home/parent meeting.  ALL MISSING ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE TURNED IN. Students will be given assistance to complete missing assignments (after school or during Remix).  Ample assignments will be given for students to recover from poor grade(s).

Extra credit work can be assigned as requested by student or parent/guardian with a 100 point maximum per 9 weeks.  All extra credit will be selected in order to strengthen the requesting students’ areas of weakness.

Homework Assignments:

Homework assignments shall strengthen and provide practice in skills which have been taught in class.  Homework will be meaningful and relevant to what is being studied.  Students will receive feedback on homework.  Homework assignments may NOT be an assignment that is sent home.  Students will be given weekly assignments that will allow them to demonstrate independent practice.

Agendas will be signed daily at the end of class if the student brings the agenda to the teacher.
