About Me
A little about Debbie M. Phillips………
I would like to begin by thanking you for sharing your child with me. They bring smiles to my heart and I take their education very seriously. My goal is for every student to learn, be happy, and become a confident, independent, productive, successful citizen in today’s society. I want them to dream big dreams, set goals to attain those dreams, and realize that life is an adventure waiting to unfold. I teach them to “Pay It Forward” and exhibit “Random Acts of Kindness” whenever possible.
I’ve lived in Gastonia all my life. I graduated from Ashbrook High School and Sacred Heart College in Belmont, NC. This is my 26th year teaching Exceptional Children and I have spent all these years at Chapel Grove. I can’t imagine being at any other school! The Chapel Grove Community is wonderful and I consider myself fortunate to be a part of it.
I have been married for 25 years to my high school sweetheart, and have 2 wonderful children, ages 22 and 17. I also have a boxer bulldog named Bentley- he’s a beast but I love him lots!
I love chocolate, flowers, clear blue sunny skies, snow, laying by the pool or the beach, and having fun with family and friends. I am proud to be a teacher. I thank God for all the blessings I have in my life- and your child is truly a blessing to me!
