We want all CHES students to get involved!

We are so excited to be participating in this new and challenging program where teams from across the country compete in regional and state wide competitions to win the national trophy. Cyberkids is a program designed to encourage students K-12 to look at math and science in a new and exciting ways. Mrs. Medlin and Ms. Zannis will be coaching the teams and are looking forward to fun and learning all together.  This years competition focuses on keeping food fresh from farm to table. Each team must come up with a way to achieve this goal and present their invention to a panel of judges. This great program has been brought to us by Cyberkids Robotics. Below is a picture of our CHES team.

This is a fifth grade county wide competition where students read grade level books and compete in a comprehension contest. It is challenging and exciting for the contestants, and a great tool to enhance and expand the love of reading. This contest starts at the beginning of the year when all students are encouraged to read the books on the selected list.  Our team has won the Western division of our county numerous times.

Girls on the Run & Let Me Run

We have two exciting afterschool running programs for boys and girls.

Girls on the run is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and a healthy life style through running.  This is open for girls in grade 3 - 5. Each year the girls participate in two 5K runs and the overwhelming response to join created a need for two separate teams.  We hope each year the girls enthusiasm and excitement will continue to be as strong!
