• identify various story elements such as conflict, plot, setting, mood.
• Predict, infer, and foreshadow
• know what the effect of using personification, simile, prefixes, , suffixes, and root words.
• Identify parts of a business letter verses a friendly letter.
• Construct a full essay with beginning, middle, and end using the outline form to plan essay.

Social Studies

The students will be able to:

• Identifly the major continents and oceans
• Identifly the major features of a globe
• Show how latitude and longitude are used to read a map.
