ARTS, BUSINESS AND COMMUNICATIONS ACADEMY

Overview
The Arts, Business & Communications Academy operates as one of four academies at East Gaston High School. The purpose of the academy is to create awareness of job possibilities in Arts, Business & Communication. To that end, the academy focuses on: teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills in preparing students for careers in business. The students participate in job shadowing opportunities and internships. The academy is non-selective. Students fill out interest surveys for selection. The academy is small, approximately 150 students per grade with a total of about 450 students and encompasses a personalized learning environment with explicitly high expectations. The academy includes grades 10-12.

Mission
The mission of the Business, Arts, and Communication Academy is to empower students to develop their academic, communication, and artistic skills in order to succeed in the real world.
