Overview
The purpose of the Leadership Public Service & Safety Academy is to increase student achievement by engaging and exposing students to various leadership and service opportunities. To that end, the academy focuses on: teamwork, collaboration, ethics, diversity, trusteeship, reflection, skill-based, and experiential learning. The academy is non-selective. The students fill out interest surveys for selection. The academy is small, approximately 150 students per grade with a total of about 450 students, and encompasses a personalized learning environment with explicitly high expectations. The academy includes grades 10-12.
Mission
The mission of the Leadership, Public Service & Safety Academy is to provide the structure and resources to prepare students to become productive citizens and to assume roles of leadership within their community.
