This year marks my 12th year in education and my 9th year at East Gaston. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in 2000 at Belmont Abbey College. I earned a degree in Biology and a Minor degree in Education. I earned my certification and the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
During the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 school years I worked on my National Boards Certification. In the Fall of 2010 I found out that I passed and I am a National Board Certified Teacher.I also played soccer at Belmont Abbey. There I was a 4 year starter. In 1999-2000 I was awarded all American Honors. In 2011 I was inducted to Belmont Abbey's Hall of Fame. I have coached for several years and continue to help coach at East Gaston. I think high school is much more enjoyable when you are involved in some positive activity.I continue to research my subject area and attend regional and national conferences in order to bring the latest information, and teaching techniques into my classroom so that my students leave with a true education. It is my professional philosophy that all students can participate in learning and by doing this they will enjoy their education and come out with a good high school experience.
