Websites with Teaching Ideas and Activities

Starfall is a fun website for kids, with interactive activities that teach basic reading skills. Kids love it!

The puzzlemaker is a great site to visit to make a quick word search or other fun puzzle to reinforce vocabulary.

You can also find a cornucopia of information at EverythingESL.net, which has resources, lesson plans, downloadables, and anything else a classroom teacher or ESL teacher might need to reach his/her ESL students!

For teachers writing content objectives and language objectives for SIOP instruction, this list of verbs is fantastic! It was developed by teachers in CMS, and is based on Bloom's Taxonomy and broken down into the four domains of language (reading, writing, listening, speaking). It is super cool!

The Catawba County website has this great page of "foldables."

Check out Create-A-Graph to make graphs.

Scroll down for tons of SIOP lesson plans on the ELL/Sheltered Instruction Website by Tulsa Public Schools.

ESL teachers share resources at ESL Printables.

Find even more lesson plans and worksheets at Learning Page.
