Erika Whitesides, M.Ed.
Exciting learning adventures await the 2012-2013 school year, and I am blessed to experience those adventures with my North Belmont Elementary family. I grew up in Gaston County and graduated from Hunter Huss High School. My undergraduate degree is in Child Development from Meredith College, and I received my Master degree in Education-Literacy from Queens University. I have North Carolina teaching certifications in Elementary Education K-6, Reading K-12, and a Reading Specialist licensure. My first classroom was on the front porch of my grandparents' home in Bessemer City. Even as a young child I knew I wanted to be a teacher, and I am grateful that my grandma and grandpa didn't mind playing school with me. From the front porch to the classroom I know that teaching is what I am meant to do, and I can't wait to begin a new learning adventure with you.
