Class Expectations
Dear Parents,
We are looking to a year of learning experiences, discovery, and growth. Much of our learning will focus on getting along with others, respecting authority, taking care of property, and following directions and procedures. For these reasons, our classroom has the following expectations:
1. Be polite and courteous to others.
2. Take care of our classroom and materials.
3. Listen carefully and follow directions.
4. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
Naturally, when expectations are not met, there are consequences. Our behavior policy has the following consequences:
1. Verbal warning or reminder.
2. Turn student's "smiley face" over.
3. Remove "smiley face" from board.
If the inappropriate behavior continues, the child will lose classroom privileges. Parents may be contacted either by phone, e-mail, or note. Students may also be referred to the Options Room (the behavior specialist) or to an administrator.
Rewards include daily stamps. Students who keep their smileys up all day may also receive additional rewards, praise, and privileges at teacher discretion.
Please be sure to read Gaston County's Student Behavior Guidelines booklet.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 704-827-4043 (school) or at 704-825-3911 (home).
Thank you for cooperation and support. We look forward to working with you and your child.
Sincerely,
Sandy Guy
