Mr. Medl begins his 5th year as an assistant principal at North Gaston. Mr. Medl believes that his Leadership Academy teachers and students are "people people," who enjoy working with and helping others.
Mr. Medl earned his Master’s degree in clinical psychology in 1976, and his Master’s degree in School Administration in 2007. Prior to coming to North Gaston, Mr. Medl worked almost twenty years as a school counselor at Hunter Huss and South Point high schools. He also worked as a school psychologist for the Department of Exceptional Children from 1979 - 1988. Mr. Medl was recognized as Gaston County’s school counselor of the year in 1995 and 2000, and was honored to receive First Union’s Non-Teaching Educator of the Year Award in 2000.
