Judy Moore, Principal

Mrs. Moore is no stranger to North Gaston High School. She served our community as both a social studies teacher and assistant principal. She returns to us this year as principal after completing five years in the same role at Mount Holly Middle School. Mrs. Moore is a 1992 graduate of Ashbrook High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in 1995. In 2000, she was awarded the Principal Fellows Scholarship and, in 2003, completed her Master's of School Administration at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Currently, she is finishing her course work in the Educational Leadership doctoral program at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and is expected to complete that degree in the spring of 2012. She believes students come first, the NGHS instructional team comes second and individuals come third. She expects everyone to give 110% everyday and she gives that of herself in return. Mrs. Moore is married with two children (ages 13 and 11), enjoys running, golfing, traveling and above everything else...her Kindle e-reader! |

Loretta Reed, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Reed is a graduate of Crescent High School in Iva, South Carolina. She received a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University in 1984. During her tenure at Holbrook Middle School, her administrator encouraged her to add to her degree to teach math in grades 6-9. May, 2005, she received her administrative degree from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. In January, 2002 she married Timothy B. Reed, her childhood sweetheart. Her theme is “It’s All About the H.Y.P.E. (Helping Young People Excel). It is important as educators that we adopt strategies that serve to motivate and educate the young people of today. |

Crystal Houser, Assistant Principal
Communications Academy
A graduate of North Gaston High School, Mrs. Houser received her bachelor degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After working in the corporate world, in the field of Environmental Assessment, she began her teaching career in Gaston County at South Point High School where she taught Science for 10 years. In 2006, Mrs. Houser was awarded the Principal Fellows Scholarship. She received her Master's in School Administration and Curriculum-Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mrs. Houser lives in Gaston County with her husband Evon, and their 3 daughters. She enjoys running and spending time with her family. Mrs. Houser is the administrator of the Communications Academy. |
