Good afternoon! Here is some information to keep you informed this week!
On Saturday, February 18, Gaston County Schools will host the first annual College Expo from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the new Conference Center in downtown Gastonia on Marietta Street.
College and university representatives from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia will be on hand to talk with parents and students. Information sessions will be offered on college scholarships, financial aid, writing resumes and letters of recommendation, preparing for college interviews, NCAA athletic eligibility and much more. Pick up college literature and tips for taking the SAT and ACT. We hope to see you at the College Expo on Saturday, February 18. Admission is free.
Congrats to Coach Norwood the Big South 3A Wrestling Coach of the Year and the NGHS wrestlers for a fantastic season! They made it to the third round of the state playoffs last week and we're really proud of how well they did.
Valentines day is Tuesday, please be reminded we will NOT accept flower, candy or gift or other deliveries to the front office. Those deliveries will be turned away so please ensure you're not using the school a as place to send your valentine a gift.
Jostens will be here on the 16th and 17th to take class ring orders. They also have a parent night planned from 3;30 to 6:30 on the 16th to discuss and order class rings as well
Friday is the Ms. North Gaston Pageant. You are not going to want to miss this! We hope you'll come out and support 15 outstanding young women as they compete for scholarship money. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for GCS students. The pageant starts at 7;30 and we hope to share that evening with you.
