My name is Rebekah Duncan and I am the principal of Edward D. Sadler, Jr. Elementary School. I have had the privilege of being the principal of Sadler Elementary since 2008. I am looking forward to a great 2012-2013 school year. Sadler Elementary School is committed to meeting the needs of all students.
Students and parents will have many opportunities to be involved at our school. Please make plans to attend our monthly school-wide Family Fun Nights. Sadler Elementary School offers educational opportunties for parents, through on-site GED classes. Also, the PTO will sponsor school nights at Monkey Joe’s throughout the school year. We need parents to serve as mentors and school volunteers. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer, mentor, PTO officer, or if you would like to attend a field trip with your child please complete the Level I or Level II volunteer applications.
Attendance is a priority for Sadler Elementary School. Please make sure your child is at school on time each day. Our school day begins at 7:50 a.m. If your child has to be out of school due to an illness, please call the school to notify the teacher, and please send in a doctor's excuse or a note about the absence on the first day your child returns to school.
Also, arriving at school on time is very important. When our students are tardy to school they are missing valuable instructional time. Please make every effort to have your child at school on time and schedule appointments after school hours.
I am very proud of the efforts of Sadler Elementary School staff and students. Sadler Elementary School has made Adequate Yearly Progress on NC End of Grade tests for two consecutive years. As a result, of the increased test scores, Sadler Elementary is no longer under Title I School Improvement sanctions.
Again, I am looking forward to a wonderful 2012-2013 school year and I look forward to meeting our new students and families.
