Kelsey Griffin knows that the community inside of a school is just as important as the education you earn there. That’s why the Bessemer City High School senior rallied her classmates and others to show their school and community pride by helping students in need.
She was instrumental in creating ‘The Hope Project,’ an effort to collect food, school supplies, clothes, and other items and distribute them to the schools in the Bessemer City area.
In addition to helping her community, Kelsey excels in honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and even earned her school’s nomination for The Gaston Gazette’s ‘Best and Brightest’ awards program.
Kelsey also works two part-time jobs, which shows she is capable of balancing her time with school, work, and community service. She will attend UNC-Charlotte where she plans to stay involved in extracurricular and service activities that extend beyond the classroom.
