Gaston County Virtual Academy
Gaston County Schools is proud to offer the Gaston County Virtual Academy, which is the local online school for grades K-12.
Now in its fourth year, the Virtual Academy offers personalized learning for students – no in-person or group meetings are required. The online classes are aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and focus on English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
It is important to note that students do not navigate the online school environment alone. Classes are taught through interactive instruction, and students are engaged in learning while having the flexibility to work around their daily schedule. Local qualified teachers are available to offer guidance, help with lessons, have discussions, and provide feedback on assignments.
Parents who have concerns about sending their child(ren) back to school are encouraged to consider the Gaston County Virtual Academy as an alternative to on-campus, in-person instruction. Enrollment is taking place now.
