I have worked more than 20 years in education as a teacher assistant, a substitute teacher and a teacher. I worked for Gaston County Schools the whole time with the exception of  the two years I worked in a charter school.  I began at Tryon Elementary as a teacher assistant (K).  Then, I went on to Forest Heights Elementary (1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th) and I am in my sixth year at Pleasant Ridge.

I have always worked in Title I and hopefully I always will. Although Title I has its challenges, it has made me see and understand students/parents in so many ways. I have a desire to help students see the real world as it exists and to show them how they can become productive citizens in it with hard work and perseverance.

Lastly, I love sports, especially the UNC Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers. I also enjoy art, music and history.
