I am from Gastonia, NC and a product of Gaston County Schools and a graduate of Hunter Huss High School. I have been teaching at Pleasant Ridge for 17 years. In my spare time, I like spending time with family, especially my grandchildren.  My past work experiences include working at Gaston College for 14 years in the Institutional Effectiveness office and working as a Part-time Instructor in the Office Technology Department.  My learning philosophy is "based on the belief that education is a vital tool that can teach children the fundamental skills necessary to live successful lives as confident citizens.  As stated by Dr. James Comer, "No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship". I am a  confident, compassionate and enthusiastic teacher who would like to make a positive contribution to every student that enters my classroom.  

My name is Clarissa Sanders and I am beginning my 27th year as a teacher in Gaston County Schools. For the past 23 years, I have lived in Chester, SC with my awesome husband, Mark. We have 1 amazing son who keep us very busy. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. It is my goal to ensure that your child gets the best education possible. This is the place where the impossible becomes possible.

Hello! My name is Morgan Sale, and I am one of the fourth grade instructional teacher assistants here at PRES! I am just beginning my career as an educator. I grew up here in Gastonia and am a graduate of Hunter Huss High School. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I have gained experience with grade K-5 and enjoy working with kids in all grades. I am in the process of receiving my degree in education from Gardner-Webb University and hope to be teaching in my own classroom within the next few years. I also have two associates degrees from Gaston College: one in general education and the other in forensic science (crime scene processing). In my free time, I enjoy practicing kickboxing (Muay Thai) and spending time with my family.
