6th Grade English/Language Arts

Mrs. Sellers has been with Gaston County Schools since 2005 (10 yrs. Bessemer City Central). She is starting her fourth year at W.C. Friday and loves teaching English/Language Arts. She is married to her husband Brad and has 2 adult children-Brandon and Megan- and her fur baby Delilah, a Boston Terrier. In her time away from school she enjoys reading and walking nature trails. Mrs. Sellers has a motto she teaches to all students: "It's okay to fail, but it's not okay to quit."

6th Grade Mathematics 

Hello. I am Mrs. Sonia M. Surratt. I am graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and a Teaching Certificate in K-6 education. I am currently in my 19th year of teaching 6th grade (15th year at W.C.Friday). I have experience in mentoring, coaching and leadership. I am a mother of one 12-year old son. When I am not working on school-related "stuff", I am an active part of my community and church. In my spare time, I like to read, cook and spend time with my family. Our favorite activity is playing outside!
