Summer Reading Camp
-
Gaston County Schools held a four-week summer camp (July 10-August 3) for elementary students at seven school sites across the county to help maintain their learning through the summer and improve their reading level.
Students are engaged in several activities throughout the day including writing, reading aloud and technology based learning.
Denise Thornton, a first grade teacher at New Hope Elementary said, "The program allows us to work one-on-one with the children for individualized instruction in reading."
