Walk to School Day

-
Lingefeldt Elementary participated in International Walk to School Day, a day that focuses on the benefits of walking to school. Students and staff celebrated by walking from the Family Dollar parking lot to their school. They were joined by Gastonia Mayor John Bridgeman, Superintendent of Schools W. Jeffrey Booker, and representatives from the Gaston County Health Department and Lingerfeldt partner Lanxess, formerly known as Chemtura.
Lingerfeldt Principal Staci Bradley said the event raises awareness about being active. “These kids are at an age where they need to start thinking about exercise and taking care of themselves. If you instill that in them early, it’s something they’ll think about for their entire lives.”
