Gaston County Schools will operate on a four-day, 10-hour work week this summer. School and central level offices will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All offices will be closed on Friday. Summer hours run through June 1-July 31.

The Board of Education approved the 2026-27 school calendar. The calendar was adopted during the board meeting on December 15, 2025, and revised March 16, 2026, to change the optional teacher workday from June 1, 2027, to August 4, 2026. Gaston County Schools is partnering with Kintegra Health to provide a school-based telehealth clinic, giving students access to medical care without leaving campus.
Through the telehealth clinic, students can connect with a Kintegra Health medical provider using secure video technology. A trained clinical professional will be with the student during the visit to assist with the exam and communicate with the provider.
