Marching Band Fanfare
We know the fine arts play an important role in creating well-rounded students. The arts teach creativity, build real-world skills, and give students a sense of belonging. Lessons learned through the arts are often applied in everyday life — both inside and outside the classroom.
Our schools incorporate fine arts into the curriculum at all grade levels to spark interest from an early age through high school. We are proud to have the Performing Arts Academy at Pinewood Elementary, which is a North Carolina A+ School for integrating the arts across the curriculum. In addition, W.A. Bess Elementary and Rankin Elementary have been recognized as North Carolina A+ Schools.
Students in these programs often go on to achieve success in the arts during high school. Our fine arts programs are regularly recognized at the district, regional and state levels.
While programs vary by school, we offer a wide range of opportunities across five main areas. For a complete list of offerings at each high school, please refer to our high school curriculum guide.
