About the Collegiate Prep Academy
The Collegiate Prep Academy is designed to offer a challenging curriculum so students gain the academic confidence and foundational skills necessary for success at the college/university level.
Through the Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Pathway, students develop, practice, and sharpen their critical and creative thinking skills by completing the AP Seminar and AP Research courses as well as other AP courses in various subject areas. Students who pass the AP courses and score high enough on the AP exams can earn the AP Seminar and Research Certificate or the AP Capstone Diploma.
The prestigious AP certificate/diploma distinctions help students “stand out” when applying to college by sending the message that they have achieved early success on college level curriculum.
During the 2025-2026 school year:
- 84.6% (33 students) earn the AP Capstone Diploma by passing AP Seminar, AP Research, and four or more other AP classes.
- 12.8% (5 students) earn the AP Capstone Certificate by passing AP Seminar and AP Research.
- 87.2% (34 students) earn the AP Scholar Award with scores of 3 or higher on 3 or more AP Exams.
- 61.5% (24 students) earn the AP Scholar with Honor Award with an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on 4 or more of exams.
- 38.5% (15 students) earn the AP Scholar with Distinction Award with an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on 5 or more of exams
Students from outside the Forestview attendance area who will be in the ninth grade for the 2026-2027 school year may apply for this program. A lottery process will be used to determine the ninth grade students who will attend (from outside the Forestview attendance area).
