We understand the importance of supporting our families and strengthening the home-to-school connection.  That is why Gaston County Schools is pleased to offer various resources for parents; we encourage our parents to review the information on this webpage and reach out to your child’s school anytime you have a question or concern or need help supporting your child’s education.

Parents should take on an active role in their child’s education by staying informed and engaged.  The resources on this webpage cover topics related to academics, college and career readiness, and student well-being and success.

Our schools realize that providing support and resources for parents is essential because it empowers families to be a part of their child’s learning in a way that results in better academic outcomes and stronger student success.  When parents are informed and involved, they gain a better understanding of school expectations, stay up-to-date on curriculum and teaching/learning strategies, and know how to help their child with learning at home.

Parents are encouraged to connect with their child’s teachers and stay in contact throughout the school year.  When parents communicate regularly with teachers, it reinforces learning both inside and outside the classroom, builds relationships, and creates a supportive learning environment that benefits everyone involved.
