Welcome to the Communications/Public Information Department webpage.
We are responsible for district-wide communications and public relations including media inquiries, public information, website/social media, publications, educational access TV channel, business and community partnerships, special events and recognition programs, and printing services.
The department has won numerous awards from the N.C. School Public Relations Association for excellence in school communications and public relations, including four "Best of the Best" awards. The awards recognize the department's outstanding efforts in marketing, video production, website/social media, photography, publications, graphic design, and special events/programs. The department also has won National Awards of Excellence, National Awards of Merit, and Golden Achievement Awards from the National School Public Relations Association.

Request to address the Board of Education
At each regular meeting, an opportunity is provided for the public to address the Board. Anyone wishing to speak before the Board may sign up in advance or immediately prior to the start of the meeting. Public expression is conducted during the Board of Education's regular meeting, which is held on the third Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Each speaker will have three minutes to speak.
