Nickels 4 Neighbors
It’s time to get out your piggy bank and fill it with nickels (we’ll take pennies, dimes, quarters, and dollars, too) so we can help our neighbors in need.
Gaston County Schools is re-launching its “Nickels 4 Neighbors” fundraising campaign to help schools in eastern North Carolina that were affected by Hurricane Florence.
Wednesday, November 28 was the money collection day for all schools and central office departments. The goal is for each school/central office department to collect a minimum of $200.
The money will be given to several school districts in the eastern part of the state that are still coping with the devastation caused by the storm and flooding.
This is the third installment of “Nickels 4 Neighbors” for Gaston County Schools. In 2015, our schools collected $25,184.55 for schools in Clarendon and Williamsburg counties in South Carolina, and in 2016, we collected $21,952.31 for schools in Edgecombe, Wayne, Lenoir, and Robeson counties in North Carolina.
Working together, we will be able to help our neighbors and show the spirit of caring and giving.
