• The Gaston County School choral department held their annual All County Middle School chorus concert on March 22 at Holbrook Middle School. Students were selected through a rehearsal process or nominated by their choral teacher.
     
    The clinician for the boys middle school choir was Dave Dobbins, a choral director at Southwest Guilford Middle School and the accompanist was Justin Bumgardner, a worship leader at First ARP and and the accompanist for the Ashbrook Chorus. The boys choir performed four songs including "Cantate Hodie," "Where Dwells the Soul of My Love," "Come Travel with Me" and "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic." 
     
    The clinician for the girls school choir was Jane Bumgarner, a choral teacher at Stanley Middle School and the accompanist was Monica Morgan a choral teacher at Grier Middle School. The girls choir performed "Cantate Domino, Alleluia," "I Gave My Love a Cherry," "Bonse Aba," and "Shady Grove."
     
    The closing song, "I Sing Because I'm Happy" featured both the boys and girls choirs.
