Belmont Middle wins fourth Gaston County Conference basketball title

Belmont Middle School captured its fourth Gaston County Conference basketball championship March 3, defeating previously unbeaten York Chester 42-34 in the 2026 title game at Hunter Huss High School.

The victory marks Belmont’s fourth conference title. The school also won championships in 2001, 2011 and 2022.
