OUTSTANDING SENIOR: Jalie Creech
Jalie Creech began her high school career by helping those in need and hopes to pursue the same work after college.
The Cherryville High School student is heading to UNC-Chapel Hill this fall where she plans to study journalism with hopes of attending law school. After college, she hopes to organize a group that travels overseas for mission trips.
Creech was a freshman at Cherryville High when she noticed that many children in the local elementary school were in need of clothing and shoes. As a 15-year-old, Creech decided to help, and with the blessings of her principal, she organized a clothing drive with local churches.
Creech was the winner of a $1,500 scholarship from The Gaston Gazette’s “Best and Brightest” competition. She was on the 2014 North Carolina all-state cheerleading team and is a North Carolina Scholar-Athlete.
Congratulations, Jalie Creech -- an outstanding senior in the Gaston County Schools Class of 2015!
