John Delgado is known for his love of soccer. Dedicating countless hours to training, traveling, and playing for school and showcase teams, the Forestview High School senior was invited to train in Viborg, Denmark with the Danish Viborg Professional Football Club. He also traveled to Gothenburg, Sweden to play in the Gothia Youth World Cup.
Off the soccer field, John volunteers with the Weekend BackPack Food Program, Riddle Farm, and the Gastonia Boys and Girls Club. Additionally, he received the Michael A. DeMayo Scholarship for a video he created about the consequences of teen drinking and driving.
Academics are important, too, to this outstanding student-athlete. He’s headed to UNC-Wilmington this fall to major in exercise science. So, it won’t surprise anyone if John finds a way to use his college degree professionally to stay close to the soccer field.
