OUTSTANDING SENIOR: ShaDala Fair
When ShaDala Fair walks across the stage to receive her diploma as Bessemer City High School’s valedictorian, she’ll complete a journey she started four years ago.
As a freshman, Fair set a goal for herself: she would graduate as valedictorian of her class.
She has not only achieved that goal, but will also become the first in her family to attend a four-year university when she starts classes at ECPI University in Charlotte this fall.
Fair’s next goal in life is to become a nurse practitioner, and she’s already taken steps in that direction. Since sophomore year, she has held a part-time job at a physician’s office in Gastonia. Fair says she wants her career to make a difference in the lives of others.
During her time at Bessemer City High, she made a difference in the school and community as a tutor and member of the Student Leadership Team, Leadership Academy and Beta Club. Fair also established the school’s “Greatness Award,” which is presented by a student to a teacher or staff member in appreciation for their work.
Congratulations, ShaDala Fair -- an outstanding senior in the Gaston County Schools Class of 2015!
