School gets $10,000 donation from Burlington

Gardner Park gets $10,000 from Burlington for classroom supplies

Gardner Park Elementary School has received a significant donation from Burlington Stores, Inc. through a partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org.

During an assembly on September 13, store manager Michael Renwand made the surprise announcement to students, teachers, and staff and presented a big $10,000 check to principal Jaime Wallace.  The funds will be used to purchase new supplies for each teacher’s classroom.

Wallace described the event as “epic” for Gardner Park teachers and students.

“On behalf Gardner Park Elementary, I would like to thank Burlington and Adopt-A-Classroom for adopting our entire school,” said Wallace.  “Our teachers are looking forward to using the funds to enhance learning in their classrooms. We are extremely grateful for the support from Burlington and Adopt-A-Classroom.”

Burlington opened its new store in Gastonia on September 6, and “adopting” Gardner Park coincides with the store’s grand opening celebration.  The store is located at 3584 East Franklin Blvd. in the Franklin Square shopping center.
