Schools and students spread holiday cheer in area parades

Gaston County Schools was well-represented in the recent holiday parades. We would like to thank the following schools for having students to ride aboard “Bus Number 1” in the parades: Rankin, Pinewood, New Hope, Tryon, Sherwood, Belmont Central, North Belmont, Carr, and W.B. Beam Intermediate.

The children had a fun time riding aboard our classic orange bus and spreading holiday cheer. We appreciate our bus driver, James Hyman, and the principals and school employees who helped coordinate their students in each of the parades.

We also would like to thank Gastonia city council member Jim Gallagher for inviting students and staff at W.A. Bess Elementary to ride on the fire department’s flatbed truck in the Gastonia parade.
