Gaston County Schools

 

One day, you probably will hear Cherryville High School’s Stephen Maher saying, “Lights.  Camera. Action!” He is already producing award-winning videos for his school, including one that earned the National Powerade Award.  His videography efforts resulted in the school receiving a $3,000 prize.

Maher, who ranks in the top 10 of the senior class class, has a dream to direct films.  In addition to working on school-related videos, he has created ones for the Cherryville High School Education Foundation, Great Outdoors, and Cherryville Chamber of Commerce.

To say that Stephen is passionate about movies is an understatement.  After graduation, Stephen plans to attend Gaston College and then transfer to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.  His ultimate goal is to see “A Stephen Maher Production” listed in the closing credits.
