  • Athletic Admission Cost

    Ticket prices will increase for some sports next year in our new conference. The Southwestern 2A will charge $6 admission for all sports except for JV football, which will be $5. EGHS must be in line with conference charges for all games.   $6.00 will be the 2017-2018 prices for all of our home contests both conference and non-conference with the exception of JV football ($5.00)

  • High School Transcripts   

    Click here for directions on how to request a copy of your transcript. Schools may only provide transcripts for students who are currently enrolled.

  • Senior Cap/Gown and Ring Orders 

    Students ordered a senior class ring or a cap and gown for graduation will be able to place order on October 2 and 3 during all lunches. Information will be given out prior to this date. Rings will be delivered on December 13, and cap and gown orders will be given out on March 20.

  • Ad hoc Schools' Capital Needs Committee 


    The Gaston County Schools capital needs ad hoc committee will conduct a meeting on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. at Flint Groves Baptist Church, Family Life Center, 2023 Flint Lane, Gastonia. The public is invited.

  • Students dismissed early on Thursday

    As a reminder, students will be dismissed early on Thursday, October 12. Check with your child's school for dismissal time. Teachers and staff will be involved in professional learning during the afternoon.

  • Parent-Teacher Conference Day

    Parent-Teacher Conference Day is Thursday, October 12 at each elementary, middle and high school. Teachers are available to speak to parents between 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. To schedule a conference, please contact your child’s school. Students will be dismissed early on Thursday.

  • Gaston’s graduation rate increases to 88.3 percent

    The high school graduation rate for Gaston County Schools has increased again, according to information released Thursday by the North Carolina State Board of Education. The graduation rate for the Class of 2017 is 88.3 percent, which is the best rate ever for the school district. The Gaston rate of 88.3 percent is higher than the state graduation rate of 86.5 percent. The district’s graduation rate has increased each year for the past eight years.

  • Gaston sees increase in overall student proficiency

    Overall student proficiency on end-of-grade and end-of-course state tests increased again for Gaston County Schools, according to information released Thursday by the North Carolina State Board of Education. Additionally, the district saw an increase in academic growth with 22 schools exceeding growth expectations for the 2016-2017 school year.

  • Students complete first day of new school year

    School bells rang Monday morning as students across Gaston County returned from summer vacation and headed back to class. Approximately 32,000 children arrived at school bright and early to begin the 2017-2018 academic year. It was a great first day as students settled into their classrooms, met their teachers, made new friends, and became focused on learning.

  • What's ahead for 2017-2018 academic year

    It’s back-to-school time in Gaston County! When the morning bell rings on Monday, August 28, approximately 32,000 students (pre-kindergarten through high school) will walk through the schoolhouse doors to start the 2017-2018 academic year. Here is some information for parents and the community as students in Gaston County Schools head back to class.
