Implementing Infinite Campus, a new student information system
Gaston County Schools - June 4, 2025School districts across North Carolina are transitioning to a new student information system called Infinite Campus – this is replacing PowerSchool. The state-mandated change from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus is intended to provide a new, modern system for student information.
Gaston County Schools will implement Infinite Campus beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. Through the Infinite Campus system, parents will have access to important student information, including schedules, attendance records, and grades.
We are beginning the transition process now. During the transition (taking place this summer and into the beginning of the 2025-2026 year), parents will not have access immediately to the Infinite Campus system. Limiting parent access is necessary to ensure that the student information going from the old system to the new system is verified before it “goes live” for parents.
We anticipate that parent access to Infinite Campus will be limited during the first nine weeks of school; schools will be sharing information with parents about how to stay up-to-date on their child’s attendance, grades, etc. during this time. Additionally, parents should feel free to call or email their child’s teacher whenever they have a question or concern about their child’s progress.
Once the verification process is complete, parents will be given step-by-step information about how to use the new Parent Portal feature in Infinite Campus. We also will share information about downloading the mobile app and how to take advantage of all of the features offered in Infinite Campus.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus. Once the transition is complete, we believe you will find Infinite Campus to be easy to use with all of the student information that you have grown accustomed to seeing in PowerSchool.
Please know that we are grateful to have you as a member of the Gaston County Schools family. As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year with enthusiasm and optimism, we are committed to doing all that we can to provide a meaningful and productive school experience for your child.
And, remember to mark your calendar – the first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 13.
