Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
-
MTSS is an evidenced-based model of schooling that uses data-based problem-solving to integrate attendance, behavioral, academic and social-emotional (SEL) instruction and interventions.
In Gaston County Schools, we are building a three-tiered system of supports for all students and staff. We work to integrate: Response to Intervention/Responsiveness to Instruction (RtI), Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), social and emotional learning (SEL), and Comprehensive Learning Supports through the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process. This system of support will lead to total school improvement and improved academic success for all students.
