Gaston County Schools athletic director Chad Duncan was announced as a Class of 2025 Hall of Famer by the North Carolina Athletic Directors Association.
The Ashbrook High School All-Star Pageant raised $9,503.81 for Cancer Services of Gaston County and the school’s Unified Club ran the concession stand, adding over $700 in support of Special Olympics Gaston County.
Stanley Middle School teacher Diana Baxter is the recipient of the North Carolina Student Academy of Science (NCSAS) Teacher Award.

Spring break is April 21-25
Spring Break begins Friday, April 18, which is a state holiday for all employees. During the week of April 21–25, all school offices will be closed; however, central office buildings will remain open. Teachers annual leave days are April 21–24, and Friday, April 25, is an optional teacher workday.
