Financial Reporting Awards - Since 1993 and 1997, respectively, our Comprehensive Annual Financial Report earned the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting awards. In order to receive these prestigious awards, a government unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report, whose contents conform to program standards. The report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. The Certificate of Achievement and Certificate of Excellence are valid for a period of one year only. We believe our current report continues to conform to the GFOA and ASBO requirements, and we will submit it for determination of its eligibility for renewed awards.

In addition, our Finance Department received the State Board of Education Recognition of Achievement in Financial Resource Management award. This award is presented annually to finance officers of those districts with no audit exceptions for certified personnel paid from State or federal funds, and no position or months of employment allotment exceptions.
