Financial Reporting Awards - Since 1993 and 1997, respectively, our Annual Comprehensive Financial Report earned the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting awards. In order to receive these prestigious awards, a government unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized annual comprehensive financial report, whose contents conform to program standards. The report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. The Certificate of Achievement and Certificate of Excellence are valid for a period of one year only. We believe our current report continues to conform to the GFOA and ASBO requirements, and we will submit it for determination of its eligibility for renewed awards.
