Ms. Emily Poag

Ms. Poag is a native of Gaston County and graduated from Ashbrook High School. After High School, Ms. Poag attended the University of Alabama, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Child Development. She holds a Birth through Kindergarten teaching license, and taught prek in Gaston County Schools for seven years. After teaching, Ms. Poag went to University of North Carolina at Charlotte to obtain her Masters in School Administration. Ms. Poag began her administrative career in 2006 as the assistant principal at Carr Elementary in Dallas, NC. In 2009, Ms. Poag was named the principal at W. Blaine Beam Intermediate School in Cherryville, NC. For the past several years, Ms. Poag has been the principal at Springfield Elementary in Stanley, NC.
