Tangela Hinton

Mrs. Tangela -White Hinton is a native of Macon, Georgia.  She graduated from Valdosta State College in Valdosta, Georgia where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. After relocating to Gastonia, North Carolina with her husband, she worked for the Gastonia Housing Authority as a Community Service Specialist and Director of Public Housing. Mrs. Hinton attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed a certification in both Middle School Education and Teacher Certification for Special Education - Academically Intelligent Gifted (K-12). She taught Language Arts at Grier Middle School for nine years. In 2012, she graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Masters of Arts in School Administration.  She then served as the Assistant Principal at W.C. Friday Middle School for the past three years.

Mrs. Hinton is married to Dr. Benjamin Hinton, Senior Pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church located in Gastonia, where she serves as the Director of the Christian Education Department and an associate minister. They are the proud parents of two sons.
