Dr. Rebekah Duncan

Dr. Rebekah Lawing Duncan is a lifelong resident of Gaston County and a proud graduate of North Gaston High School. She graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1996 and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education in 1998. She also received a Master's Degree in School Administration and Curriculum and Instruction in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In December of 2017, she completed her doctoral degree from Gardner-Webb University in Educational Leadership.

Dr. Duncan has served Gaston County Schools in various roles since August of 1996. She has served as a teacher at Gastonia Central Elementary School and at Woodhill Elementary School. She also served as the assistant principal at Sherwood Elementary School for three years. Mrs. Duncan served as the principal of Sadler Elementary School for seven years before coming to Carr Elementary School. While at Sadler Elementary School, Mrs. Duncan was recognized as the Gaston County Schools Principal of the Year for 2013­-2014.

Dr. Duncan and her husband live in Gastonia with their daughter and twin sons. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, beekeeping, and take photos..
