Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Meg Anderson

Title I Literacy Teacher

I am too excited to start my 5th year at McAdenville Elementary as the Literacy Teacher.  This is my 14th year teaching and my 10th year working in Gaston County Schools.

I am a North Carolina Native who graduated from Catawba College in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  As a novice teacher, I taught second grade for four years at Forest Heights Elementary. In 2009 my husband and I moved to Greenwood, South Carolina, where I taught third grade at Merrywood Elementary.  In 2010, I graduated from Capella University, Suma Cum Laude, with a Masters’ in Elementary Education with a Reading and Literacy focus.

In 2013 after the birth of our son, Jimbo, my husband, Chris and I returned to Belmont, North Carolina after he accepted the Head Baseball Coach position at Belmont Abbey College.  For the past 5 years, I have been a Literacy Teacher for Gaston County Schools, four of which have been at McAdenville.

When I am not working with our incredible teachers, staff, and students here at McAdenville Elementary I enjoy reading and running.  If my family is not home there is a good chance you can find us at Abbey Yard cheering on the Belmont Abbey Baseball Crusaders.

It is going to be a great year creating lifelong readers!
