About the Academy
It’s never too early for students to begin thinking about the future. At the middle school level, the Career Academy makes it possible for students to explore a variety of career fields so they can get an idea of job opportunities that await once they graduate from high school and college.
At York Chester, students focus on career exploration in the areas of scientific visualization (SciVis), game art and design (GAD), and business and technology. Through the Career Academy, students learn that their future (regardless of which career they select) will be influenced by technology.
This program provides a pathway for students to participate in the Career Academy at Hunter Huss High School.
Students from outside the York Chester attendance area who will be in the sixth grade for the 2022-2023 school year may apply for this program. A lottery process will be used to determine the 30 sixth grade students who will attend (from outside the York Chester attendance area).
